Anti-Depression Medicine:

Cataplexy is frequently treated with tricyclic antidepressants such as clomipramine, citalopram, or protriptyline. Venlafaxine is a newer antidepressant that has shown some use in helping symptoms of Cataplexy, it works by blocking the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. Unfortuantely, i am not very good at chemistry or biology so i can't tell you exactly why that works.
