The hospital, generally speaking, is not invested enough to have done a night study as well
Patient awake
What is this 'awake' of which you speak, if only you realised i had narcolepsy you would realise what a futile word that is to me
Electrodes re-applied
... and re-applied, and re-applied and re-applied. With more and more glue and alcoholic rub and violent nurses and pushing and bruising ... you get the idea ...
20 Minute Nap
yuhuh?!?, you are unlikely to fall asleep the first time - it is too early in the morning, the electrodes are bugging you, there is someone filming you as well as being in the room and you are in the middle of a noisyhospital laid down on an uncomfortable bed/bench
Patient Awake
I never went to sleep!!
20 Minute Nap
By this time you may not have had a good time but you may manage to sleep through this one ...
Patient eats lunch
Yeah, if you remember to bring some with you, and remember you can only have caffeine free drinks ... what circle of hell is this?
20 Minute Nap
mmm ... ZZZzzzzz .....
Patient Leaves
Covered in glue and bruises and alcohol rub, the narcoleptic leaves the clinic extremely tired and disheveled. They then spend the next 'x' amount of months wondering if, like a circus animal, they performed well enough to get what they need. If not see step one ...
***A lot of people with narcolepsy find that they do not perform very well on these tests but as a doctor recently told me, this is not a reflection on the patient but a reflection of how god awful these tests are at proving anything. So, on that note don't worry too much!***
