Nasal Spray:

A nasal spray containing a naturally occurring brain hormone called 'Orexin A' reversed the effects of sleep deprivation in monkeys, allowing them to perform like well-rested monkeys on cognitive tests. It has apparently got little to no side effects and so would be an immense break through in research for doctors and narcoleptics alike. nasal spray.pdf

The treatment for each patient is generally tailored to their own specific symptoms as not everyone has exactly the same symptoms to the same degree. Medication adjustments are frequently necessary in most patients and  so it is a good idea to keep revisiting your Gp for assessments.
